Inertial Navigation for Surface and Subsea Operations

An Inertial Navigation System (INS) is at the heart of a vessel’s navigation. It provides key position and time data without having to rely on GNSS signals, which can either be disturbed or unavailable. Such a critical role requires both high-performance, and unfaltering reliability.

iXblue has got an unique range of inertial solutions (INS and AHRS) not affected by GPS outage for surveyors, from gyrocompass to complete inertial navigation systems. Our systems can detect spikes on GPS data (when surveying under bridges, etc.) and exclude them from the navigation calculation.

Unrivaled and Steady Long-Term Performance

An inertial navigation system naturally drifts over time. This drift is tightly linked to the system’s performance. Thanks to its world-renowned FOG technology, iXblue can achieve unparalleled levels of performance. This ensures your navigation remains accurate in environments where GNSS won’t work, for extended period of times.

Focus on your Operations thanks to Unfaultering Reliability

By using solid-state technology -implying no moving parts-, all of our INS, AHRS and IMUs are guaranteed to achieve a high level of reliability. They can endure the harshest of environments and treatments without affecting their use or long-term performance.  This means not only you won’t need to worry about your navigation breaking at the worst time (high Mean Time Between Failures [MTBF]), you won’t need to plan for periodic maintenance. We applied the same philosophy to our Forward Looking Sonars, which are tightly build, and meet the strictest standards on the market.

Interoperable solutions for easy field integration

Believing in an interoperable ecosystem as per iXblue’s open philosophy, all our subsea and surface positioning products and solutions are compatible with third-party assets. This makes iXblue products easy to integrate into your existing pool of equipment and operational fields with no compromise on performance or reliability, bringing increased flexibility and efficiency.

Dedicated support experts at your service

Globally recognized for their readiness and proficiency, our teams of support experts are trained on all iXblue products. From integration, to training and assistance, our teams are available around the clock every day of the year to ensure you get the most out of your navigation solutions.
