The SeapiX-FLS Series is the next generation mine and obstacle avoidance sonar. Derived from the sea proven technology of the 3D Multi-Beam Echo Sounder SeapiX, the SeapiX- FLS Series revolutionizes the market and increases performances.
The FLS solution has been developed upon request of the French Armament Secretary for multipurpose applications such as mine and obstacle avoidance, real-time mapping and navigation, and Rapid Environment Assessment (REA).

Thanks to a variety of unique design choices, SeapiX-FLS ensures a flawless coverage within its detection radius. No obstacle goes undetected, your navigation always remains safe from seabed to surface.
3D wide angle coverage
SeapiX-FLS Series’ electronically steerable Mils Cross antennas allow for a large volume coverage (120°x120° for SeapiX-FLS 5, 90°x90° for SeapiX-FLS 7). This configuration also enables your crew to have a 3D rendering of the water column and bathymetric profile, providing them with a clear vision of what lies ahead.
Unrivaled real-time accuracy
We aim for nothing short than extremely accurate, real-time obstacle detection. Coupled with our custom-built Man Machine Interface (MMI), you have all the tools necessary to light-up your path. Nothing goes undetected.
Beyond detection, SeapiX-FLS analyzes in real-time detected objects, using position and kinematic data, target strength index, and acoustic measurements. Allowing you to not only realize something is on your way, but to know its level of threat.

Water Column Coverage from Surface to Seabed
Having a long detection range and high accuracy is one thing. SeapiX-FLS goes even further by providing a detailed scan of everything within its range using different type of swaths. It can even track identified targets for confirmation.

SeapiX-FLS come in two different versions, and can easily be integrated on any vessel. Multiple forward looking sonars can even be combined to ensure a wider coverage.

Another key feature of the SeapiX-FLS Series is the ability to generate a real-time obstacle detection probability map. This information is crucial for crew decision making, allowing them to adapt their speed according to their underwater environment, and thus navigate with more safety both for the crew and the platform.
One single interface for efficient multiple FLS operations
Increased detection coverage can be reached by combining multiple SeapiX-FLS on the same vessel, with no further hassle for the operator thanks to the SeapiX-FLS user-friendly MMI. This MMI can centralize and simultaneously display information gathered by the multiple SeapiX sonars.
