Xavier Montazel graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris in 1991. He also got a PhD in ‘Combustion’ in 1994.
He started his career at MBDA (former Aérospatiale Missiles) as a design engineer in aerodynamics. In 1998, he became head of the Aerodynamic Design Department of MBDA in charge of the external and internal design of the missiles.
In 2000, as Program Manager, he was in charge of one of the biggest export contract of MBDA for a South Asia Navy. He joined the Air Systems Division of the Thales group in 2005 as ‘Naval Program Director’ for Radar activities.
In 2007, he became Deputy Director of the ‘Naval Business Unit’. Within this role, he had in charge to launch a new product line dedicated to Coastal Surveillance radars.
In 2009, he moved to the position of ‘Security & Naval Business Unit’ Director, in charge of Naval, Coastal, and Air Traffic Control radars of the Thales group. Xavier joined iXSea in August 2011 as Vice President Inertial Products Division.
